Project Description

The DuPage Children’s Museum is a non-profit museum for children in the Chicago suburbs, and underwent a major website redesign. In line with growing trends of mobile device website visits, a mobile-ready website was needed so that mobile users could locate common items such as a map or directions to the museum.

In addition to creating a responsive website, persona research and card sorting sessions revealed key stakeholders and new organization schemes for the website content. In combination with a responsive theme, new content was streamlined for display on both mobile devices and other platforms.

Non-mobile websites can be difficult to view on small screens, and involve lots of zooming and scanning for information. The result of the new mobile-ready website included simplified drop-down menus and improved navigation so that mobile users could easily find common items such as maps, directions, and museum hours.
